Jerry began his piano studies at the young age of 6 with a private teacher from Belleville, IL for about 10 years. Following graduation from high school Jerry continued his career in his musical interests, teaching private piano lessons full time and studying tuning pianos and finally worked into a full time thriving piano service business after relocating to SW Michigan in 1984. Jerry furthered his career in piano study by attending various piano schools across the country over the years including the prestigious Yamaha Computerized Piano School in Los Angeles, CA back in the 90’s.  From 1983 to 2005 his client base of some 1200 clients kept him extremely busy as he worked a 50 mile radius of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Due to a chronic pain condition he sold the business (2005) and retired from piano tuning. At this time Jerry was able to follow his heart and return to playing piano full time. Jerry served as pianist for the Helmsmen Quartet based in SW Michigan for about four years, 2007 - 2010. Jerry recorded his first piano solo CD in 2008 (How Bright the Shore) followed by his second project (So Blessed).in 2010. Jerry is now involved in writing music and arranging and recording again. His latest CD project, “My Song to You” was released in October of 2019.

Due to a chronic pain condition, Jerry is limited in his performing publicly but tries to do so when the opportunity arises on occasion. Jerry and Jerri live along the lakeshore area of Lake Michigan in the quaint touristy town of Grand Haven. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren living nearby.
